Altimate Wellness
A Naturopathic Physician brings together various natural healing therapies such as Phytotherapy (Herbal medicine), Homeopathic remedies, Oriental medicine, Hydrotherapy, Stress management, Detoxification programs, Ionithermie to address all types of illness. The Naturopathic physicians are considered the general practitioners of the Complementary Medicine. As a Naturopathic Physician and an Expert in My Field, I view the individual as an integral whole and the symptoms of disease as indicators of improper functioning due to unhealthy lifestyle choices. I encourage the individual to take an active part in the healing process through recommended adjustments in lifestyle by adherence to the seven Laws of Health and in maintaining the body's natural state of balance.
At Altimate Wellness we deal with internal health problems, metabolic disorders and imbalances, through treatment of the whole person. Through expertise, a wide range of diagnostic techniques are employed to assess causative factors, and treatment may involve dietary changes, herbal medicines, homeopathy, nutritional supplementation and body work, all in the light of the patient’s individuality.
Modalities explained
Naturopathic Consultations include the Instructions prior to the Naturopathic appointment (are very specific and very relevant for good accuracy of tests), Comprehensive Health questionnaire and the 5 Day Diet Diary that needs to be filled out prior to your consultation. At the time of consultation, it is advisable to bring any blood tests that your Doctor would have performed and also as an adjunct would be helpful to know your blood type. The first appointment takes 1 hour and includes:
- Thorough physical assessment (including BioImpedance - Body composition, determining fat mass, muscle mass, fat to muscle ratio, protein deficiency)
- In depth health history/dietary discussion
- Nutritional advice such as:
- Liver and intestinal detoxification
- Cholesterol lowering dietary programs
- Hormonal disorders
- Weight management solutions
- Allergies and food Intolerance problems
- Strategies for Stress Management
Bio-Cellular Analysis
Bio-Cellular Analysis or Biological Terrain Testing is a sophisticated, methodology based on the biochemistry of the individual and offers customization of a patient’s diet according to his own unique body chemistry. Through the data gathering process by using urine and saliva samples, the client’s chemistry and physiological parameters are measured and the “Patterns of dysfunction” are obtained.
The Naturopathic Physician will use this information to select the specific foods and combinations of foods that will enable the body to function at peak efficiency, by providing the right supplementation that helps suspending the toxins for elimination, and enhancing the digestion so the nutrients can be suspended and absorbed and transported to the cells.
Every person has genetically determined and highly individualized nutritional requirements and the internal anatomical characteristics are every bit as variable as their external characteristics.
Knowing that Individuality pervades every part of the human body, I truly endeavor to treat your individuality with utmost respect and to put into practice the science of customized nutrition and lifestyle.
The nutritional regimes used in the clinic are used to build health rather than treat disease.
When working with body chemistry, while dealing with symptoms [such as being overweight which is not a primary issue] this it is the ideal way to achieve results. When the biochemistry becomes aligned, liver and the related organs of digestion begin to respond to the program and changes in weight will be slow yet certainly taking place.
Bio-Cellular Analysis includes tests such as:
- pH analysis revealing digestive speed, indigestion, calcium disturbance – type of calcium needed and adequacy, insulin strength and effect, fungal and viral effects, vitamins such as B12, C etc loss and needs, electricity effects and loses, effects such as density, osmosis and viscosity in all systems of the body
- Cellular debris analysis – reveals the rate at which the cells expel by-products and kidney stresses, Vitamins E, A, C needs
- Carbohydrate analysis – reveals high and low sugar, oxygen/brain effect, headache pattern, alcohol levels, body temperature, alertness/sleepiness/drowsiness/fainting patterns, seizure potential, dizzy motion/morning sickness, and conscious energy levels
- Conductivity analysis reveals effects on: fluid balance, tissue breakdown, cholesterol, heart/blood vessels, nerves/muscles, osmotic pressure, heat loss in relation to carbohydrate, pH and urea
- Urea analysis reveals protein intake and outgo, protein digestion potential/toxicity/deficiency, nitrogen toxicity and deficiency, meat/food toxicity, hearing stress, blood stress, potassium uptake/dumping, bile salts strength, rest/overwork relationship.
Bio-Impedance Analysis (ability of the body to conduct electricity) It's done electronically by applying a small electrical current to the body via the electrodes. It analyzes:
- Resistance (how effective is the body in dissipating energy or how effective is the metabolism)
-
Reactance (how effective is the body in storing energy)
-
Capacitance – total energy storage capacity of the body cell mass compartment determined by the quality of the cell membranes
-
Phase angle reflects the ratio of body cell mass to fat free mass
-
Fat free mass (lean muscle mass) readings
-
Body cell mass (BCM) (contains all the metabolically active tissues - muscle cells, organ cells, blood cells and immune cells and the water inside the living cells)
- Extracellular mass (ECM) (contains all inactive parts of the body such as bone minerals and blood plasma and the water outside living cells)
- Total body water – healthy cells maintain their integrity and their fluid inside the cell membrane
- Intracellular/extracellular water – volume of fluid inside/outside the cell
- Body mass Index – relationships between weight and height that is associated with body fat and health risks
Integrated Iridology Analysis
Iridology - is the analysis of the iris of the eye, the colored portion that reveals the basic constitutional health of an individual. Iridology can indicate genetic and functional weaknesses, tissue and organ conditions, areas of nutritional depletion and need, areas of inflammation and toxicity, and the general body constitution. This information is gathered by “reading” the fiber and markings of the iris, which manifests symptoms specific to all the organs of the body before they would be discernible through lab analysis or blood work. Proponents ascribe modern iridology to Hungarian physician Ignatz Von Peczely (1822-1911), author of The Discovery in Natural History and Medical Science, a Guide to the Study and Diagnosis from the Eye (1881). Supposedly, Von Peczely discovered the "iris-body" connection in his childhood, when he broke the leg of an owl and a black stripe spontaneously appeared on the owl's iris. This diagnostic tool, which is used to identify the underlying causes of disease, is performed with state of the art equipment and includes explanation of the findings plus nutritional advice.
Live Blood analysis
By observing a drop of blood under the microscope, we can get a real dynamic and visual perspective of life processes at the cellular level. Optimal total health is the result of optimal cellular health.
With the help of the Consultant you will be able to see:
-
Why are you not feeling up to par
-
What changes you can make in your diet
-
Nutritional deficiencies
-
How to plan the corrective action your body requires
It is recommended that Live Blood analysis modality be best used in conjunction with the Naturopathic consult, so that a thorough explanation including dietary and lifestyle advice can be carried out. Yet upon request this modality can be performed on it’s own. |
